An Oryx Nova station cuts protective film in four steps: the device outline and its cutouts are loaded from a cloud library updated as new devices launch, dimensions, curves, notches and camera cutouts are matched to the exact model, a precision plotter cuts the film on demand at the counter, and the piece is applied so it follows every edge.

The film

The Oryx Nova film, in one unbroken take: a piece of protective film descends and fits a phone; the phone becomes a watch and the same piece wears the watch; the watch becomes the phone again; the phone opens into a laptop and the same piece wears the laptop screen. If it has a screen, the station has its size. No machine, tool or factory appears in the film: it shows the fit, not the production.
